Allama Mashriqi: The Unsung hero

Allama Mashriqi was born in Amritsar Punajb on 25 th of August 1888. He was an intelligent student which was reflected by his aceademic records. He was the first student who took first class in Msc Mathematics in Punjab university.   Mashriqi joined the Christ’s College at the university of Cambridge in 1907 and finished his education in 1912. His aceademic achievements were highly appreciated in Cambridge university. During his stay in England he was offered the Premiership of the princely state of Alwar. He declined the offer as he was more interested in serving the education department of India. When he returned to India he was asked by the chief commissioner of NWFP(now Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa) to take up the position of Vice Principal in Islamia College Peshawar.
